Military separation pay

How long can you wait to get military separation pay? What does the Army cover in separation pay for the enlisted? Is military separation pay taxable? Is separation pay the same as severance?

FSA accrues from the day of departure from the home station and ends. To be eligible, a military member must have six or more years of active duty, and less than years. There are two types of pay : (1) Full Pay and (2).


The amount equals months of basic pay for each year of service which includes active service and inactive duty points, but the total service years cannot exceed years. Disability severance pay is a one-time lump sum payment. FSA is payable at the rate of $ 2per month (pro-rated to $ per day for periods less than a month).
