Chapter 35 benefits for dependents

How long does it take to receive chapter benefits? Is chapter income taxable? These benefits may be used for degree and certificate programs, apprenticeship, and on-the-job training. What is the timeline for dependents to apply for chapter 35?


SURVIVORS’ AND DEPENDENTS ’ EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE.

The DEA program provides education and training opportunities to eligible dependents and survivors of certain veterans. Dependents ’ Educational Assistance program, or DEA ( chapter of title 3 U. S. The program provides a means to get a post-secondary education either as a traditional student in a brick-and-mortar classroom setting, or through one of many online options. Here in California if the veteran passed of Agent Orange it would be considered DIC benefits for you and your daughter this would give eligibility for chapter 35. Additionally, the parents of a veteran may be eligible for income support.

However, when filing a tax return, you are asked about veteran benefits. While filing my taxes, I indicated my daughter (I am claiming her) was a full time student at a university. Apply for your benefits by visiting vets. Complete and submit your application.
