Veterans housing assistance program

VA housing assistance can help Veterans , service members, and their surviving spouses to buy a home or refinance a loan. We also offer benefits and services to help you buil improve, or keep your current home. Veterans with certain service-connected or aging-related disabilities can get housing assistance.


These services aim to prevent a veteran from losing his or her home and can also help them to find more stable housing if needed. VA eligibility makes this determination.

Veterans must also meet the definition of homelessness defined in The McKinney Homeless Assistance Act as amended by S. The HUD-VASH program is a housing assistance programs available through the combined efforts of HUD and VA that strives to reduce and ultimately eliminate homelessness among U. Housing Assistance for Veterans (HAVEN) funds assist with necessary modifications to homes of U. These vouchers let you choose the place where you want to live, and you can choose any place that accepts these vouchers. However, the Veteran’s Administration has programs in place to provide these services. You may apply for Aid and Attendance or Housebound benefits by submitting the prescribed VA form(s) to the Pension Management Center (PMC) that serves your state. Specially Adapted Housing Grants.

Education - You may qualify for education benefits through military and veterans programs. HUD provides housing choice vouchers and VA provides case management and outreach. This program targets veterans who are currently homeless. Services are provided for veterans who are facing homelessness or are at imminent risk of losing housing.
