The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends administration of an oral dose of 200IU (or 100IU in infants) of vitamin A per day for two days to children with measles in areas where vitamin A deficiency may be present. Such children receive a total of three MMR vaccines.

In some countries, measles vaccinations are a part of the measles , mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccination. Many malnourished children in the world die when they get measles , usually from a secondary lung infection (pneumonia).

There is no specific treatment for the measles. Your pediatrician will recommend medication to lower the fever and a cream to reduce the itchiness from the rash. However, there is treatment for the associated symptoms.
