Measles beginning symptoms

Signs and symptoms of measles typically include: Fever. Inflamed eyes ( conjunctivitis ). The early phase has symptoms of fever, lethargy, cough, conjunctivitis, runny nose and loss of appetite. Bloodshot and watery eyes. This is followed by a rash.


The early symptoms of measles usually disappear one to two days after the rash appears, although the cough may continue until all symptoms are gone.

Measles Symptoms: The Rash. The measles rash is red and blotchy, and usually appears about days after exposure to the virus. Runny nose, cough, sore throat, malaise and fatigue may all occur. A toddler may be unable to explain that he isn’t feeling well, but may be cranky, lose his appetite, and sleep more than normal. Other symptoms that may occur are: Cough , runny nose , and red eyes.
